CITY HOSTS PUBLIC HEARING TO SOLICIT PUBLIC COMMENTS FOR THE
LOUISIANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT MAKE A DIFFERENCE PROGRAM
The City of Natchitoches will host two public hearings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22 and April 29 at the City of Natchitoches Council Chambers, located at 716 Second St. The City is asking for the community’s feedback on the Make a Difference Program grant application.
The following items will be discussed at the hearing:
• The amount of funds available for proposed community development activities, which is a maximum grant amount of $2,000,000 for projects that align with CDBG national objectives;
• The range of activities available that may be undertaken under the LCDBG Make a Difference Program includes, but is not limited to, the following:
o Acquisition of Real Property
o Public Facilities Improvements
o Clearance, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Construction of Publicly Owned Property
o Architectural Barrier Removal [upgrades to meet ADA requirements]
o Public Services
o Relocation
o Planning and Capacity Building [including development of Master Plan]
o Program Administrative Costs
o Economic Development Assistance to For-Profit Business
• The plans of the City for minimizing displaced persons as a result of activities assisted with such funds and the benefits to be provided by the City to persons actually displaced as a result of such activities; and,
• The City’s past performance on LCDBG projects funded by the State of Louisiana.
All residents, particularly low and moderate income persons and residents of blighted areas of the City are encouraged to attend this meeting. Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities and non-English speaking individuals provided that three-day notice of such is received by the City. Those citizens unable to attend this hearing may submit their views and proposals until May 2, 2025 in writing to:
