The Office of Programming and Promotions’ mission is to make Natchitoches a more vibrant and creative city in which to live, work and play.  The Office of Programming and Promotions helps to produce high-quality special events, festivals and programming that stimulate the community economically and culturally; celebrate Natchitoches’ rich, diverse heritage while enhancing the quality of life and sense of community for all residents; forge partnerships that make Natchitoches a premier visitor destination and generate positive local, national and international publicity about Natchitoches.

The Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Natchitoches Visitor Center, both publish regular newsletters updating the public on local projects, initiatives, attractions and more.  To stay up to date on these activities, consider signing up at www.natchitocheschamber.com or www.natchitoches.com

The Natchitoches Main Street Program is under the supervision of the Office of Programming and Promotions.  For more information on this program, please contact the Main Street Office at (318) 352-2746.

If you are a media outlet interested in a story on Natchitoches or would like to set up an interview with City of Natchitoches officials or departments, please contact the Office of Programming and Promotions.

If you are a location scout or producer interested in filming in the City of Natchitoches, please contact the Office of Programming and Promotions to secure necessary permits concerning filming within City limits.  Information on tax credits and other film incentives in the State of Louisiana, please visit www.lafilm.org.

The Office of Programming and Promotions also oversees Keep Natchitoches Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful.

Programs implemented through Keep Natchitoches Beautiful include Yard of the Month, Adopt a Road/Adopt a Spot, Earth Day and Arbor Day.

Keep Natchitoches Beautiful also sponsors “Keep Natchitoches Beautiful Month” each April. Activities include educational presentations in local schools and a citywide cleanup known as the “Great American Cleanup.”
